Policy Regarding Release of Information to Recruiters

 

Section 9528 of NCLB Act of 2001 Requirements

Section 9528 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires schools to release student information to military recruiters unless parents provide a written request to the school to opt out of releasing that information. Information requested by the United States Armed Services may contain name, address, telephone listing and school records and may be turned over to the United States Armed Services, military recruiters, or military schools.

Parents who wish to excercise their right to opt out of having the district provide this information as required by Section 9528 can simply write a letter indicating their wish to do so and give or send that letter to the high school principal.
