8. Main conflict in the book: The time spell that was cast by the demons is wearing away. Demons are materializing all over Earth and this is dangerous for the whole fairy race because they would be exposed to human eyes.

9. Setting of the book: (place and time) Barcelona, Spain, Haven City, (in the fairy world), The Island of Hybras, Limbo, (the demons home), Sicily, Tourrettes sur Loup, The Chateau Paradizo, Southern France, Taipei, Taiwan Present Time

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Artemis Fowl - Artemis Fowl is genius teenager that is trying to capture a demon. After learning that the demon population is in danger, he wants to save them.
(2) Holly Short – As a private investigator, this small fairy is investigating small crimes. She joins another investigating business and then, when the demons start to materialize and she helps them. She needs to help them or the whole fairy population will be wiped out by the humans.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? Most of the characters are believable because they act like normal people would. The fairies and demons are believable because they are described well and they seem like they would be living on Earth. All of the characters are interesting because many events happen to them and it is interesting to read about what occurs in the situation.

13. Good reasons to read the book: Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony is a great book to read because it is action-packed. Many events in this book are explained in great detail and it feel like they are happening to you. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and is almost impossible to put down. I wanted to keep reading and I think this book will keep you up late into the night, reading under the covers with a flashlight.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why…. I liked this book because the events that happened to the characters were interesting to read about. The plot was also interesting and the story was written very well. I also liked this book because the description made me feel like I actually witnessing the events in the book.
