4. Author of Book: Mary Norton
5. Year the book was published: 1943
6. Genre: Fantasy
7. Student rating of the book (1 the highest, 5 the lowest): 2

8. Main conflict in the book: The children, Carey, Charles, and Paul were transported to dangerous places and barely returned home safely, when Paul would turn the bed knob on the bed.

9. Setting of the book: (place and time) The book takes place in the 1950's in England.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Carey, the oldest child who made most of the decisions
(2) Miss Price, an old lady who was a witch and created the magical bed knob, which controlled the bed's destinations.
(3) Paul, the youngest child who had the idea of the bed knob was the only one who could control it.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting?
The young characters, Carey and Charles, are believable, normal, average children, but not really interesting. On the other hand, Miss Price wasn't believable because she was a witch, however she was very interesting because she could cast spells and do various witchcraft.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book:
“’ Mr. Jones and I,’ said Miss Price slowly gazing at the wall as if she could see through it, ‘are two lonely people. We shall be better together.’” (pg. 185)

13. Good reasons to read the book:
I suggest reading this book because it takes you on exciting adventures to exotic places.

14. Any reasons not to read the book?
I advise you to not read this book because at the end, it goes on and on about a man named Emelius as if the book would never end.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
No, I did not like this book because the same concept carried on for many chapters, and they should have varied their adventures. I recommend that Miss Price have greater witchcraft abilities to make the book more diverse.
