7. Student Rating of the Book [1 highest 5 lowest]: 1
8. Main conflict in book: The main conflict is that Juda [the main character] is marring a Christian prince named Tolvaikis even though she is a Pagan. See, the Pagans and the Christians have been fighting for several years; now is the perfect time to strike against the Pagans.
9. Setting of the Story: On the Baltic shores of Lithuania
10. The main characters and the part they play: There are two main characters, Uvis and Juda. Let’s start with Uvis. His major role in the book is to warn the Pagans that the Christians are coming. Next is Juda. She has two main objectives: to marry the Christian and to be part of the battle. In the end she tragically kills her groom because he tried to kill the Pagans.
11. Are the characters believable and interesting: Yes, I say they are, for they do nothing that is impossible and this catches my interest.
12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: “She retrieved every arrow except one arrow, that one she never wanted to see again.” (Page 218.)
13. Good reasons to read the book: It was interesting, it was fun to find out how the Christians were going to attack.
14. Any good reasons not to read it: It has a late start, the story takes awhile to get going.
15. Did you like the book why or why not? I did like the book because when it got started I was sucked in.
