8. Main conflict in the book: Domenica Santolina Doone or Dinnie was taken away from her poor family to go to a school in Switzerland that her uncle is the headmaster at. The school is an American school but there are many children from different nationalities that go there and she needs to make friends.

9. Setting of the book: (place and time) In the country and then in a school in Switzerland. The time is now.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Dominica Santolina Doone is the main character and she is about 11 when she is taken away from her modest family to Switzerland.
(2) Lila is a girl that Dinnie meets and she is a stubborn brat that can’t seem to make any other friends than Dinnie and her major wish is just to go home.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? They are completely believable and interesting because they show the traits of several people I know but they still have their own unique personality.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: (include who said it, page number, and use
quotation marks!) “The plane swooped over jagged snow-covered mountains and landed without crashing in Zurich, Switzerland. A foreign country.” Said by Dinnie

3. Good reasons to read the book: It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you never want to stop reading it, you make friends with characters as Dinnie does, you have the same emotions as Dinnie does, and when you think all of the surprises are over it makes you scream.

14. Any reasons not to read the book? And here is my answer, are there any reasons to jump off a cliff? Of course not! This is one of the best books that I have ever read.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
I really loved this book because there was no downside to it but the ending. Also, the author is amazing and makes you want to read her books over, and over again. I would defiantly recommend this book to any girls between the ages of 9 and 12. Also, I would recommend this to some boys. It teaches you how to make friends when you don’t know anything about anyone and how trustworthy friends can be.
