8.      Main conflict of the book: Leslie Burke, a young very creative and caring girl is new to the school and tries to find friends. 

9.      Setting of the book: Lark Creek Elementary and Tarabithia in present day  

Jess was a young boy that went to Lark Creek Elementary and was very determined to be the fastest runner in school. He was very friendly and had a big imagination. At home, his family was not too wealthy and was the only boy of five children.

Leslie Burke moved next door to Jess and they became friends after just a short time. Leslie was the fastest runner at Lark Creek Elementary school since the day she arrived. She too also had a very large imagination and was always ready to explore.

 

11.   Are the characters believable and interesting? Yes they are very believable and  interesting people. 

12.   One excellent direct quotation from the book: Leslie took a deep breath. “This is not an ordinary place,” she whispered.” Even the rulers of Terabithia come into it only times of greatest sorrow or of greatest joy. We must strive to keep it scared. It would not do to disturb the Spirits.”  Page 60- Leslie quoted 

13.   Good reasons to read the book: This book is a great book to read if you want excitement and adventure.

 

14.        Any reasons not to red the book? Yes, if you don’t enjoy reading sad books I do not recommend this book for you.

 

15.        Did you like this book or not? Yes, the excitement kept me on the edge of my seat while I was reading this book. Also, the author uses many descriptive words in this story to help you imagine the scenes in your head. I highly recommend this book to others.

7. Student rating of the book (1 the highest, 5 the lowest): I rate this book a 3 because it was a good book but it was not great.

8. Main conflict in the book: Jess’s greatest goal to achieve over summer was to become the fastest runner in the fifth grade. Summer ends and school starts without much luck. The first day of school a new girl named Leslie beats everybody at a race. This makes Jess mad because all summer he had been training to be the one that beats everybody. But then she came and ruined his whole plan. He and Leslie become very close friends and imagine a place in their minds called Tarabithia. Tarabithia is a magical land with creatures that are not in the real world.

9. Setting of the book: The setting of the story is at Jess and Leslie’s school and in Terabithia.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Jess is a boy who wants to be the fastest child in the fifth grade.
(2) Leslie is the new girl at the school who beats every single child at a race.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting?
I think the characters are believable and interesting because when you read the book you can understand what they are thinking.

13. Good reasons to read the book: It is an exciting and adventure filled book where there is imagination and other interesting things that happen.

If you don’t like fantasies then you should not read this book. Otherwise it is a great book.

I liked this book because it was very exciting and it had interesting imagination in the magical kingdom.
