The book takes place most of the time in the underground city of Ember. At the end it takes place on the surface world. The book is set in the future.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Lina Mayfleet is a girl who finds a way to get out of her town’s misery.
(2) Doon Harrow is a boy who helps Lina on her journey.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting?
The characters are very believable because Lina, Doon, and everyone in the city of Ember are all like real people who live real lives. They are most interesting because Lina and Doon take charge and try to convince everyone that Ember isn’t the only city that exists in their world.

None.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
I really liked this book because the book kept becoming better and better as it went on. I couldn’t put it down. Also, I liked it because it shows the strength and courage that people have to go through just to convince people to believe them.
