8. Main conflict in the book: A boy named Twig and his father, the great Cloud Wolf, pilot of the sky ship Stormchaser, must find Stormphrax, a special substance created by a single bolt of lightning during the Great Storm. Stormphrax weighs nothing at all in light but when in total darkness, a small amount could weigh over five tons. That is why Twig, Cloud Wolf, and the rest of the crew must find and use this substance to weigh down the great floating rock Sanctaphrax, or else it will float away. During their adventure, they meat some strange and dangerous people that want to kill them. Also, this book is about a father trying to show his son that he loves him, no matter what may happen.

9. Setting of the book: This book takes place on the fictional continent of the Edge. The locations on the Edge include the city of Undertown, the great bleached white desert called the Mire, in the dark and mysterious place known as the Twilight Woods, and in the cradle of knowledge and education, Sanctaphrax. This book has no specific date period of time that it takes place in.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1)The main character of Stormchaser is Twig. Twig is a boy that works on his father’s sky ship. When faced in danger, Twig will make a plan of how to triumph. Also, Twig is very loyal and tried to save all of the sky pirate crew after the Stormchaser exploded. Sometimes Twig can be very worried, scared and angry in hard situations.
(2)The second main character in this book is Cloud Wolf. Cloud Wolf is a very serious and strong man who has his own sky sailing crew. Cloud Wolf has kept the secret of Twig being his son from his crew because that is a very valuable piece of information. Also, Cloud Wolf used to be an apprentice of the school of Sanctaphrax but decided to be a sky pirate when the leaders betrayed him, so he is very smart. Lastly, Cloud Wolf is the greatest of all sky pirates and the best of fighters.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? All of the characters in this book are very believable because each on has their own different personality. Twig is an energetic and curious child while Cloud Wolf is a serious and powerful man. Also, all of the characters are very interesting. Some characters are mean and cruel while others are sly.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: (include who said it, page number, and use
quotation marks!) ‘ “Twig! Twig! I may lose my ship. I may yet lose my life. And if that is my fate, then so be it. But if I lost you… It would… Twig, my son. I love you. But you must leave. For you and for me. You understand don’t you?’” (Pages 180-181) This is what Cloud Wolf said to his son Twig when he was about to be killed in the power of the Great Storm.

13. Good reasons to read the book: This book is really amazing and I recommend reading it. The book has a lot of tragedies and excitement. Also, everything described in this book is easy to imagine and the character’s decisions will have an impact on the reader. Lastly, this book can show that life is not easy and that people go through tough times.

14. Any reasons not to read the book? This book was amazing and there is no reason not to read this book.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why…. I liked this book because it has loyalty and tragedies in it. Also, it is action packed with lots of sudden changes to the story. Thirdly, the book has excellent descriptions on all of the characters, creatures, and ships. Next, this book has a lot of foreshadowing and cliffhangers. Finally, this is a very good book and I can’t wait until the next in the series comes out.
