(1)Nathaniel is an assistant to the Head of Affairs who works with the government.
(2)Kitty, another main character is a member of the Resistance, an illegal organization.
(3)Bartimaeus is a demon who is Nathaniel’s partner in the government.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? Yes, they are because all the main characters express how they feel.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book:
“It’s just, well, some things that demon Bartimaeus said have…set me thinking.”

13. Good reasons to read the book: The story keeps wanting the reader to read.

14. Any reasons not to read the book? The book is confusing because after each chapter is a different character’s point of view.
