Ms. Holt's Physical Education Classes
Welcome! This website was designed to help my students and their parents.
I have been a Physical Education teacher at the High School for over 15 years. I have been teaching for more than 25 years. Teaching is my life, not my job. I have also coached for more than 20 years including: swimming, water polo, softball and soccer.
Life is full of experiences some good, some bad, but all are memorable. We usually feel better about life if we exercise and are physically as well as mentally fit. My goal for each of us is to become physically fit and find activities that we can participate in for a lifetime. Most people have greater memories of Physical Education or Athletics than any other class from high school.
Physical Activity provides opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and social interaction. For the few students that think they hate P.E., I would ask them to think of what it is that they actually hate and why? I would also ask them to set some goals that they could live with for the semester and truly try to accomplish them. At the end of the semester I would ask that they reevaluate their feeling about P.E. Like most things in life, the more we put into something the more we get out of it. Most people dedicating themselves to physical fitness as a youth, have a longer and healthier life, and have a greater chance at being a physically fit adult.
