Math Olympiad
The goal of the LCUSD Math Olympiad Program is to provide high-quality math opportunities for all interested students in grades 4-6. Through a combination of participation in global (MOEMS), regional (Math Field Day), and local competitions, students are encouraged to deepen their mathematical thinking, build collaborative skills, and develop a lifelong appreciation for problem solving.
Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is a worldwide, not-for-profit program that fosters a love of mathematics through creative problem solving. Students explore challenging, non-routine problems that encourage multiple solution strategies and build flexible thinking skills. Our LCUSD Math Olympiad program prepares students for five official MOEMS contests held throughout the school year.
Who participates?
100% of students enrolled in the LCUSD Math Olympiad program take part in all five contests.
