Comprehensive School Safety Plans
Each year, California schools are required to review and update their Comprehensive Safe School Plans. These plans consist of two major components: Emergency Preparedness Plans, which detail each school’s procedures for responding to emergencies or crises, and action plans that emphasize strategies for fostering a positive and supportive school environment.
Schools within La Cañada Unified School District collaborate with School Site Councils and staff committees to update these plans annually. This process includes analyzing current school data to strengthen safety measures and improve overall campus climate. The completed Comprehensive Safe School Plans are presented to the Board of Education for approval in the Spring.
Individual school plans are available at each school site. Members of the public are welcome to request access and review the plans in person at the school.
