Last year, over 75 LCUSD teachers, administrators, substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, office managers, and secretaries attended Google Summer Camp to sharpen their tech skills, learn new tools, and get reenergized for the coming school year. Now is your chance! You don’t need to be a techie to attend camp. In fact, our campers come from a variety of roles here at LCUSD, and from many different levels of tech proficiency, but everyone will get supportive, individual attention as you dive into the Google Apps. We cover a lot in a short amount of time, and we will give you all the help you need to be successful.
Google Certified Educator Level 1 Camp Sessions
Google Level 1 Certification is aimed at educators and school employees who want to learn how to better use Google apps in their work. Learn how tools like Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, Youtube, Sites (and more) will help streamline your work, engage your students, communicate with parents, and take your practice to the next level. Camp sessions meet for 3 hours per day for 5 days. Each day, you’ll join your colleagues for a fast-paced (but laid-back) session to learn and apply your new knowledge to real-world activities. On the fifth day, you’ll have the opportunity to take the Google Level 1 Certification exam. If you pass, you’ll earn a badge to demonstrate your achievement. If you don’t pass on the first try, the tech department will offer continued tutoring to help you pass the test!
Dates: June 4th-8th Time: 1pm-4pm
Dates: June 18th-21st Times: 9am-12pm
Google Certified Educator Level 2 Camp Session
For our returning campers, we offer the Level 2 camp. The format for this camp will focus on taking your practice to the next level, focusing on how tech can enable project-based learning and formative assessment, or getting ready to flip your classroom. We’ll meet together to take the exam on the fourth day of camp, and on the fifth day, our campers will have the opportunity to attend a local educational technology summit. Our Level 2 camp will help you sharpen your technology leadership skills and help you to focus on areas to innovate in your classroom and school site.
