Facilities Use Application

Opportunity for Licensed Classrooms with La Cañada Unified School District
Application for Use of School District Facilities
The Facilities and Operations Department manages and oversees the use of school facilities and school grounds. The California “Civic Center Act” (Education Code 38130) and the Governing Board Policy (BP 1330) provides for the use of school facilities and grounds by community groups when such use does not interfere with school activities.

During non-school hours and weekends, the City of La Cañada operates and maintains athletic field schedules of school sites through a joint use agreement. Priorities for granting community use are ranked as follows: (1) School district use; (2) School support group use; (3) Community use; (4) Lease use; (5) Commercial use.

Groups shall be charged according to the current Facility Use Rates. A deposit of 50% of the estimated costs are due when the application is approved. The balance is due fifteen (15) days after the event. Invoices will be sent by the Business Office.

Application Process:

1. Contact the school site to determine if your proposed dates and times are available. Use of kitchen facilities requires prior approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Administrative Services. Use of athletic facilities at La Cañada High School (LCHS) requires prior approval from the LCHS Athletic Director.
