Brief Description of Position: La Cañada Unified School District has an opening in school year 2019-20 for an elementary school psychologist at Palm Crest Elementary School (a portion of time may be spent at La Cañada Elementary School). This is a full-time (1.0 FTE or 100%), tenure track position.

Work Year: This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE or 100%); August through early June (10 months); 199 contracted workdays. First day of paid service is Wednesday, July 31, 2019. A new staff orientation day has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 7, 2019. The first day for students will be Thursday, August 15, 2019, and the last day of the work year is Thursday, June 11, 2020. A probationary contract will be offered, leading to tenure.
Placement on the certificated salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. No cap on years for public school experience. The starting annual salary range for a school psychologist is $77,350 to $116,337. Paychecks for school psychologists are disbursed over all 12 months.

This position is eligible to participate in the District’s medical benefit plans. Currently the District’s maximum contribution to an employee’s benefits package is $15,505 per year.
1. Credential: Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology; Preferred: Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
2. Education: Master’s degree or higher
3. Experience: Candidate must have experience in completing behavioral assessments and developing positive behavior support plans.
