La Cañada Unified has a vacancy for an AP Psychology teacher in the 2022-23 school year. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE or 1.00%) that is covering a one-year leave of a tenured teacher. A temporary contract will be offered for the 2022-23 school year. At this time, it is expected that the teacher will carry a full course load of AP Psychology.

Qualifications:
1. Credential: Valid California Single Subject Credential in Social Science, including a certification to teach English Language Learner students.
2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Work Year: This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE or 100%); August through early June (10 months); 186 contracted workdays. The first day of paid service is Thursday, August 11, 2022. A new teacher orientation day has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2022. The first day with students will be Monday, August 15, 2022, and the last day of the teacher work year is Monday, June 5, 2023. The temporary contract will span the dates of August 11, 2022 to June 5, 2023.
Benefits
Salary: Placement on the certificated salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. No cap on years for public school experience. The starting annual salary range for a fully credentialed teacher is $58,205 to $111,841, corresponding to $5,291.36 to $10,167.37 per month. Teachers are paid over 11 months, August through June.

Benefits: This position is eligible to participate in the District’s medical benefit plans. Currently the District’s maximum contribution to an employee’s benefits package is $15,930 per year. Premiums for a part-time employee are prorated based on the employee’s full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage.
