Brief Description of Position: La Cañada Unified School District has a vacancy for a full-time AP Biology/Forensics teacher for the fourth quarter of 2021-22. A temporary contract will be offered to cover a leave of absence for a permanent employee. This assignment is 1.17 FTE (117%), in which the teacher will teach four sections of AP Biology and two sections of Forensics. Lessons plans for all sections will be provided, as well as review activities for students in preparation for the AP Biology Exam. The temporary contract will begin March 21, 2022 (or soonest possible start date) and end on June 3, 2022.

1. Credential: Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Biology, with a certification to teach English Language Learner students.
2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Master’s degree or higher degree is desirable.

Work Year: This is a full-time position (1.17 FTE, or 117%) teaching all six sections of the school day, beginning March 21, 2022 (or soonest possible start date) and ending June 3, 2022.
Salary: Placement on the certificated salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. No cap on years for public school experience. The starting monthly salary range for a fully credentialed teacher is $5,291.36 to $10,167.37. Teachers are paid on the last workday of the month.
