Dear LCUSD Staff,
Tonight, I am excited to share news about our search for the next Superintendent for La Cañada Unified School District. The Governing Board has selected Debra Cradduck, Ed.D., to serve as our next Superintendent, effective August 1, 2026.
Dr. Cradduck’s appointment is uniquely significant: she is our first-ever homegrown Superintendent, having begun her educational journey as a student within LCUSD. Her 16-year professional tenure with the District. She has served as a teacher, the Principal of Paradise Canyon Elementary, and currently as Associate Superintendent of Human Resources.
The Board reached this decision following a rigorous, intensive vetting and interview process. We are confident that Dr. Cradduck’s leadership, growth mindset, and deep-rooted commitment to our students make her the ideal leader to build upon the outstanding legacy of Superintendent Wendy Sinnette.
Please find the attached press release for additional details regarding the succession process and formal statements from the Governing Board and District leadership.
We invite you to join us in congratulating Dr. Cradduck as she prepares to lead LCUSD into this exciting next chapter.
Caroline Anderson
