At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, LCUSD administered standardized assessments (Illuminate) to measure student learning and progress. At the start of the 2021-2022 school year, diagnostic assessments were administered to measure learning loss and design a plan to address student needs upon their return to school. Each principal designed a targeted Responsive Teaching Plan to address student needs. Parents and the community can access those plans here.
The following is the local educational agency’s (LEA’s) plan for providing supplemental instruction and support to students, including
those identified as needing academic, social-emotional, and other supports, including the provision of meals and snacks. The plan will
explain how the LEA will use the funds it receives through the Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Grant to implement a learning
recovery program for at least the students included in one or more of the following groups: low-income students, English learners, foster
youth, homeless students, students with disabilities, students at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, disengaged students, and
students who are below grade level, including, but not limited to, those who did not enroll in kindergarten in the 2020–21 school year, credit-deficient students, high school students at risk of not graduating, and other students identified by certificated staff.
LCUSD is reopening our schools for the 2021-2022 school year. All campuses will return to in-person instruction with their traditional 5 days per week bell schedules. LCUSD site and district administration monitor updated orders and protocols from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH), which inform many areas of reopening planning. The Reopening Plan outlines the health and safety measures for this school year. As protocols adjust from LACDPH, the LCUSD Reopening Plan will return to the School Board for discussion and adjustments.
