Throughout the year, the District will post employment opportunities for substitute teachers. When there is an active posting, it will appear on the LCUSD page of EdJoin.
By clicking on the link for the substitute teacher posting, a candidate may review the requirements of the position and submit an electronic application. A link to the EdJoin website may also be found on the "Employment Opportunities" page under Human Resources.
As an alternative, a paper application may be turned in by printing and filling out the .pdf attachment below. Please attach a copy of a valid substitute teaching permit or teaching credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). If the candidate does not hold a CTC-issued permit or credential, please be aware that active employment could only begin after applying for and receiving a substitute permit from the CTC. Though paper applications may be submitted when no posting appears on EdJoin, the application will be kept on file until the next substitute teacher posting is flown.

At times, a substitute teacher posting may show an application deadline of "open until filled." In such cases, the District may choose to accumulate a number of applications before scheduling interviews. Once an interview date is set, selected applicants will be contacted by phone or email with an invitation for a personal interview.
