Purpose/Role
The GATE Advisory Committee is to advise and support responsible school district officials in administering all aspects of the GATE Program including on-going planning, implementation and evaluation. Topics addressed, although not limited to, are the qualification criteria, goals, parameters, programs, practices and instructional resources. The members will represent the perspectives of their school sites and provide parents with educational opportunities related to gifted education. The GATE Advisory Committee will be chaired by the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services and decisions will be made through consensus.
Membership
The membership shall consist of:
Any parent of a GATE identified student desiring to be a member of the GATE Advisory Committee should direct the request to their child’s school site principal. Membership is confirmed at the start of the school year.
Meetings take place in the Professional Development Center at the District Office.
Meeting Dates are:
September 10, 2021, 9:00 a.m.
January 21, 2022, 9:00 a.m.
April 15, 2022, 9:00 a.m.
